AVIcodec Rating: |
Homepage Download |
| Description:
AVIcodec is a very useful tool that helps you identify the codec used by video files. As you may know, most video files have
a simple AVI, MPEG etc. extensions, however some of them may require additional codecs like DivX or VCD and others.
When trying to run such a file, and you don't have the proper codec installed, you will get an error message, or may
be limited to audio playback only. While AVIcodec does not provide you with the codecs, it makes it easy to identify
the exact video type and the codecs required (if any). In addition, it provides links to online resources to find required codecs,
and also displays a list of all codecs (with version) that are installed on your system. Freeware |

YAAI - Yet Another Avi Info Rating: |
Homepage Download |
| Description:
Yet Another Avi Info is one of the most advanced avi info programs
(in fact I don't know any other program that is nearly as good at YAAI).
It provides you many statistics about AVI files that stay hidden in the standard windows property dialog.
For example it shows the number of keyframes, the average bitrate of the video as well as of the audio-stream.
With YAAI it is also possible to fix A/V desync in an AVI file by changing the framerate and the audio delay.
A strech factor is given so you can open the audio data in "Cool Edit" or something, stretch it and reintegrate it into the AVI.
The advantage is that the framerate isn't changed, so you can directly create a VCD with it. Freeware |
